According to Hunan Airport data, during the 7-day holiday between February 4 and 10, Hunan’s eight airports handled 4,589 flights for 587,000 passenger trips, an increase of 8.46% and 7.86%, respectively, over last year.

The Changsha Huanghua International Airport travel peak was on February 10 with a total of 590 flights and 82,000 passenger trips. The most popular destinations were Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.

The eight airports carried out various measures in order to better serve travelers during the travel rush. Festive ornaments were arranged around the airport terminals; extra staff and volunteers were organized to assist passengers; emergency and priority service counters were set up; and, innovative services were launched, such as WeChat check-in, paperless customs clearance, and self-service baggage check-in, to facilitate passenger trips.
