The Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway has received much attention. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on August 23 that it will be open to traffic beginningSeptember 23, with direct access to 44 locations in the mainland China. By then, Hunan’s four cities: Changsha, Zhuzhou, Hengyang, and Chenzhou will have high-speed rail access to Hong Kong. The specific ticket purchase information for tourists is subject to the announcement of the official website of China Railway Customer Service Center 12306.

The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway has a total length of about 142 kilometers. The Guangzhounan (Guangzhou South Railway)-to-Futian section has been opened. Only the Hong Kong section (Futian-to-West Kowloon) is not yet open. The Hong Kong section is about 26 kilometers long and operates at 200 kilometers per hour.

It was announced that the first train will depart from West Kowloon Station at 7:00 on September 23 to Shenzhenbei (Shenzhen North Railway) Station. Hong Kong will then be included in the national high-speed rail network.

It is estimated that the journey from West Kowloon Station to Changshanan Station is about 3 hours and 12 minutes. The fare for the second class is 529 CNY.

The “two inspections in one location” customs clearance procedure will be implemented at the West Kowloon Station of the Hong Kong section. Hunan passengers can take the high-speed train to Hong Kong without having to get off halfway. After going to West Kowloon Station, they can go through the customs clearance procedures for both the mainland China and Hong Kong in accordance with the guidelines of the West Kowloon Station.
