Several ancient military installations have been found in Xushupo village, Shuangxiqiao town during archaeological survey organized by cultural relic control station in Yongding district, Zhangjiajie city. Some of them remain a mystery, which aroused many tourists’ interests to unveil the story behind.

The first military installation is the Old Castle which is located on hillside of Guanyin Mountain of the village. It is a pure military castle with defensive characteristic where the castle’s walls are enforced with stones with shooting loopholes on walls. The castle’s height around is nearly 10 meters and its width is over 3 meters. Nowadays, the master of the castle remains a mystery.

The second one is Lee Manor. It is near the Old Castle. In the manor, a significant amount of pavilions, stages and other facilities are there. Outside the manor, there are a lot of fertile land reclamations. What’s more, building time of the manor could trace back to the first year of reign of Emperor Yongzheng in Qing dynasty.

The third one is Tianluoshan Temple which locates on the top of Tianluo Mountain which is just on the opposite side of Lee Manor. It covers 4 mus (Chinese unit of area). It is said the temple was built by Li Zicheng who was once the leader of peasant uprising after defeated by Qing army, which adds mystique to the temple.
