11th Chinese Cultural Heritage Day Marked in Xiangxi

From June 13 to 16, celebrations on the 11th Chinese Cultural Heritage Day were held at Pushi Ancient Town, Luxi County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

The celebrations were made through the following nine events: cultural heritage exhibition and performance day, an exhibition on cultural innovative and creative products, mobile museum, intangible cultural heritage pavilion, photography exhibition on Xiangxi intangible cultural heritage (folk customs), national costume fashion show, Chenghe Gaoqiang (a high-pitched opera) performance, and expert forum on cultural heritage protection. 

Excellent inheritors and professional art performing troupes gathered here to display classic intangible cultural heritage items recommended by 8 counties and cities of the Prefecture. These on-site performances have attracted much attention of tens of thousands of locals and visitors. 

Young amateur photographers are attracted by Xiangxi Miao painting in the area showcasing cultural innovative and creative products.
