Hunan Huayao Shines at First World Conference on Tourism for Development

A Tourism Promotion Conference on “Splendid China and Happy Hunan”, as part of the First World Conference on Tourism for Development, was held at Macao Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of May 19, 2016.

Series of wonderful performances, which integrated national intangible cultural heritages of Huayao cross-stitch works and Huayao Wuwa folk songs, pushed the conference to a new high.

These Huayao culture themed shows were performed by an art troupe of Hunan Xuefeng Mountain Eco-culture Tourism Co., Ltd.

G20 Tourism Ministers, along with members of the United Nations World Tourism Organization and the European Commission as well as over 600 guests from 107 countries walked into the venue accompanying by Huayao girls who were singing a folk song. They were amazed at the girls' colorful costume and ethereal sound.

Secretary-general of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai was excited to put on a waistcoat presented by Huayao people and dance with them together. He exclaimed, “Huayao girls are so beautiful and Huayao culture is so mysterious. I am dying to fly to Xuefeng Mountain to experience Huayao culture as a guest.”
