Tens of thousands of Miao people in Hunan's Huayuan County gathered at Dongmaku Township with drums, songs, and dragon lanterns to celebrate the Beginning of Autumn Festival on Start of Autumn (the 13th solar term of the year) day, which falls on August 7 this year.

This day, Miao people dress up in traditional national costumes to celebrate a year of bumper harvests together. It is also a good occasion when young people show their talents to court.
