2016-12-20 18:01:02

Joining in the spring camp on the theme of "root-seeking tour", about 100 Chinese-Australian teenagers and their teachers from Melbourne, Australia arrived at Emperor Yan's Mausoleum in Zhuzhou on April 3 and paid homage to Emperor Yan, the ancestor of Chinese nation.

At 11 o'clock, led by the honor guard, all the teachers and students to attend the memorial ceremony stepped into the memorial square. Representatives offered incense and presented baskets of flowers. After the ceremony, teenagers entered the Great Hall to worship Emperor Yan's statue and learned about the eight major merits and contributions of Emperor Yan.

Afterwards, the group also showed respects to Yan's Mausoleum and planted a memorial tree that represents "all sons of Chinese nation may not forget his ancestor".

This "root-seeking tour" is expected to enable overseas Chinese to get a better understanding of Chinese culture.
