Yuelu Academy National Culture Research and Promotion Center Established

Chinese National Culture Research and Promotion Center was officially launched at Yuelu Academy on the afternoon of March 26. Xu Yousheng, director of the Hunan Provincial Publicity Department and Lai Mingyong, deputy chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee oversaw the launch ceremony.

The center was built at Yuelu Academy under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Publicity Department, the Hunan Provincial Education Department, Hunan Broadcasting Company, Hunan Federation of Social Sciences and Hunan University.

The center plans to invite top domestic and overseas experts to conduct studies and open forums and seminars on Chinese national culture. The Yuelu Academy Chinese National Culture Award will be established and posts of distinguished and specially-appointed professors will be created to promote the spread of Chinese national culture.

Mr. Xu remarked that this center is of great significance in accelerating the prosperity of philosophy and social sciences and increasing the cultural power of the province. He expected the center to integrate traditional Chinese cultural research resources from at home and abroad and increase the promotion of sinology. He added that the province will strive to develop Yuelu Academy into a highland in promoting Chinese culture, a high-end research platform affecting the nation and a base to exhibit achievements of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
