ZJJ Held Hunan Reproduction and Release Activity of Giant Salamander

A few days ago, themed by Giant Salamander, Hunan Reproduction and Release Activity was held in Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan scenic spot. Under careful guide of professional personnel, a batch of visitors released 50 proliferous giant salamanders into Golden Whip Stream, slowly and quietly.

Giant salamander, a kind of secondary nationally protected aquatic wild animal. In 2012 forum that mainly focuses on giant salamanders’ protection and development, Zhangjiajie was awarded “hometown of giant salamander” by national aquatic wild animal protection branch.

In 1999, Zhangjiajie welcomed the first giant salamander rescue center withinChina. Since then, Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan district spares no efforts making full use of the natural resources in order to develop the giant salamander industry. Up to now, Zhangjiajie has made great contribution to the diversity of aquatic wild animals.
