Hunan to Embrace Travel Peak in National Day Golden Week

The 2012 Tourism Working Conference on Mid-Autumn Day and National Day Holiday was held by Hunan Provincial Government on the morning of September 20.

The holiday tourism nationwide will start on September 24. Hunan is expected to meet its highest travel peak in the upcoming eight-day Golden Week holiday from September 30 to October 7. According to a sample survey by Hunan Tourism Bureau, 90% of Changsha citizens intend to travel in the holidays, significantly higher than the number of last year.

The free-pass policy was issued this year that passenger cars with seven seats or less and motorcycles will get a free pass on toll roads, bridges and tunnels during the Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day and National Day. This will put unprecedented pressure on the country's highways during the Golden Week holiday. Therefore, one or two designated lanes for passenger cars are scheduled to set on main highways during the holiday to facilitate the traffic.
