2012 Hunan Folk Art Festival Held in Thailand

Themed "Embrace China · Charming Hunan", the 2012 Thailand-Sino Folk Culture Art Festival kicked off on September 1 in Mysterious Palace Theater in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

The festival is aimed to enhance the cultural exchange and cooperation between Thailand and Hunan, further promote Chinese and Huxiang culture, and build better understanding of Thailand people toward Chinese culture.

Over ten art troupes consisted of about 400 folk actors took the stage, during which art show, exhibitions of calligraphy, paintings and paper-cutting works are to be held.

Chen Zhihong, an actor from the Changsha Huaxin Art Troupe, said that he felt proud to come to Thailand at his first time as a cultural messenger.

Fang Wenguo, counselor of Oversea Chinese Affairs from Chinese Embassy in Thailand and Mr. Naikorn, former vice-premier and chairman of the China and Thailand Friendship Association attended the opening ceremony.
