Phoenix Town hit by downpour

On May.9, the Ancient Town of Phoenix  was hit by a downpour, which swelled the Tuojiang River’s water level. One of the renowned tourism sites Tiaoyan Bridge was flooded. According to the Office of Hunan Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, the central and northwest areas have been constantly affected by torrential rains. Till now the affected population hits 1.2 million ones, and the direct economic loss is about 863 million yuan.
