Taiwan and Yueyang to Reinforce Cooperation in Trade and Economy

Xu Shousheng, governor of Hunan Province held a banquet at noon Wednesday, April 17 to welcome the visiting delegation led by Jiang Binkun, president of the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF).

Xu remarked SEF is a vital tie and bridge between the mainland and Taiwan. This visit marks a new starting point for in-depth cooperation in culture sector.

Mr. Jiang thanked for Hunan's care and support for Taiwan merchants working in the province. He hoped that the two sides will step up efforts to strengthen communication and cooperation in trade and economy, and the industrial integration will be promoted to jointly create influential Chinese brands.

The delegation later paid a visit to Yueyang. Huang Lanxiang, secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee briefed on the city's economic and cultural development. She said it is a great opportunity for the city and Taiwan to deepen friendship and cooperation. She also warmly invited Taiwan compatriots to Yueyang for sight-seeing, investment or starting businesses.

Mr. Jiang hoped that the city and the island will jointly boost economic development based on complementary advantages and closer cooperation.
