Camel Group with Hunan Tea to Revisit Moscow
2016-12-20 17:59:49

The departure ceremony of retaking the tea road from China to Moscow will be held in Changsha this July, according to a press conference held in Changsha on April 12.

In 1693, a business group dispatched by Russia to China excited the whole Beijing. Around 320 years later, a 120-camel group with tea from China will spend two years revisiting Moscow.

Starting from Inner Mongolia, these camels will first go to Hunan to fetch tea. It will take seven months to cover a route of over 4,000 kilometers. The domestic event will be finished by the end of this year. Over this period, a series of activities will be held, including Tea Road Forum, the Photography Contest on Tea Road, and charity auction of the Chinese Tea Development Fund.

During the 12th Five-Year period (2011-2015), endeavors will be made to build productive and high-quality tea parks covering an area of two million mu (about 133,333 hectares) and develop Hunan into a large and powerful province of green tea, Chinese black tea, yellow tea, and black tea, with the Chinese black tea to yield 100,000 tons. The foreign exchange earnings from tea export will hit 200 billion USD, and the output value of the tea industry will reach 50 billion yuan from 2011 to 2015 and 100 billion yuan by 2020.
