Overseas Tourists Flock to Zhangjiajie

According to incomplete statistics, from January to February, number of overseas tourists visiting Wulingyuan Scenic Area amounted to over 40,000, up 13.8% year on year. Here showed a sign of boom of inbound tourism at the beginning of this year. Particularly, number of Korean tourists per day boomed by 85% on a year on year basis after the direct flight to Zhangjiajie from ROK had started. Meanwhile tourists from European and America, and countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and regions such as HongKong, Taiwan so on so forth, flocked to Zhangjiajie one after another.

Besides, overseas travel agencies and media have paid great attention to Zhangjiajie this year. From January to February, the director of the Tourist Administration of Wulingyuan Scenic Area said, more than 10 foreign travel agencies and media delegations had come to Zhangjiajie for cooperation and negotiation on expanding tourist flow and marketing.

Of late Zhangjiajie airport have upgraded to international airport, some in the industry anticipated that affected by this favorable condition, the number of overseas tourists to Wulingyuan this year will continue to grow to over 800,000.
