Culture and Arts Week Commenced in Anren County

A Culture and Arts Week to celebrate New Year's Day kicked off in Anren County, Chenzhou City, on December 26, 2011. Dressed in colorful costumes, 20 waist drum dance teams and lion-dragon dance teams presented splendid performances.

Based on the theme of mass participation, modernization, localization, and distinction, the event focuses on Anren's economic development, changes of cadres' work style and large investment in people's livelihood. Performances portraying distinctive culture, with local flavors and talents are held to showcase the county's development in the past year, development plan in the coming year, and to create an entrepreneurial atmosphere.

The event will last till the Spring Festival. A series of activities will be held, including   waist drum dance competition & mass pageant, flower-drum opera performance, film show, reading group, calligraphy and painting exhibition, and a dance party.
