Kunming's Royal Thai Consulate-General Visits Hunan

Xiao Xiangqing, director of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with a delegation headed by Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kunming Vichit Chivimarn on July 4, 2011.

Xiao welcomed the delegation to Hunan. He said that in recent years, with increasingly frequent communications between Hunan and Thailand, there is vast cooperation potential between the two sides. In mid-April this year, the event "Entering ASEAN-Hunan Week" held by Hunan yielded fruitful results.

Xiao hoped that Thailand, as a major part of ASEAN Free Trade Area, will enhance exchange and cooperation with Hunan in economy, trade, culture, tourism, etc. via Vichit Chivimarn's tour.

Vichit Chivimarn extended his thanks to Xiao's reception. Hunan's television entertainment is well-developed, and his tour this time aims to visit Hunan Broadcasting System and invite its staff to Thailand, said he. He hoped to promote exchange and cooperation between the two sides in various fields.
