Zhangjiajie Receives almost 110,000 Tourists This Year

Incomplete statistics released by Wulingyuan District Tourism Bureau show that, since Jan.1 this year, Wulingyuan Scenic Area has already received almost 110,000 tourists, a threefold increase over the same period of last year.

In recent years, with the ongoing growth of tourism industry in Hunan, rational development of tourism resources and growing influence of international brands, more and more Hunan citizens choose to travel within the province. As a world natural heritage site, Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie plays a leading role in "travel within Hunan".
 
Over the years, the traffic environment in Zhangjiajie has been greatly improved. In addition, in response to the increasing self-drive tour, Wulingyuan has taken painstaking efforts to improve parking facilities in urban area and the scenic area, greatly facilitating tourists' parking.

It is also informed that besides the Hunan tourists, there is a substantial increase in travelers from Guangdong Province. In terms of tourists' number, Guangdong ranks the second with 84,000 visitors, followed by Beijing with 48,000.
