Changsha Hosts Cycling Invitational Race

The 2011 National Road Cycling Championship (Changsha section) & China Changsha Cycling Invitational Race along the Xiangjiang River is launched in Changsha today.

The male and female individual time trials kick off this morning. 360 professional athletes and coaches involved in the race already arrived in Changsha and took adaptive training. Li Xin, chief referee of the race released on May 2 that the invitational race has attracted the best contestants in cycling events across the country.

During the competition from May 4 to the morning of May 7, traffic control will be conducted on involving roads and sections. According to estimation of the organizing committee, about one million people will watch the event on the scene. Considering the particularity of cycling race, Tan Yong, director of the Organizing Committee's Office and head of the Changsha Tourism Bureau calls for citizens not to stop over at Orange Isle Bridge, Yinpenling Bridge and Houzishi Bridge. When watching the competition, and not to step over the isolation zone, nor enter competition terrain or racing track.
