2016-12-20 17:59:12

A magnitude 9.0 earthquake hit Japan on March 11, 2011 in the northeastern coast, near Tokyo. Hearing the bad news, Zhang Guoyi, chairman of the Lengshuijiang Returned Overseas Chinese Federation immediately contacted Duan Yuezhong, president of the Loudi Fellow Association in Japan to care about the safety of fellows in the earth-stricken area.

On the early morning of March 12, Mr. Zhang received a call from Xiao Jianzhu for help. Xiao was eager to know whether his son Xiao Gaobo working at the earthquake-hit Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan is safe or not. After much effort, the son who has been out of contact for 66 hours was finally found safe. Zhang and his staff sighed in relief after they got the good news. During the past few days, the Lengshuijiang Returned Overseas Chinese Federation got in touch with 12 families of overseas Chinese and students in Japan who are all safe.
